Mt Kenya being one of the tourist attractions, it is the highest largest mountain in Africa. Peaks of the mountain are Batian which is 5199meters, Nelion 5188meters, and point Lenana 4985 meters. Mt Kenya is at the south of the equator in central Nairobi.
3million years after the opening of east Africa rift Mt Kenya was created. It was covered by an ice cap which resulted to eroded slopes. currently we have 11 small glaciers.
The lower slopes are covered by different types of forest. Species such as lobelias, senecios, and the rock hyrax are endemic to Mt Kenya.national park is designated at some area of 715 square kilometer and it is listed as UNESCO Heritage site.
